RMSC belated New Year’s dinner
RMSC’s belated new years’ dinner turned out to be a great get together in an intimate atmosphere. In restaurant Chung, members were happy to see each other again after a long time. Our last in person event was the business lunch at Europort three months ago.
Due to limited availability we unfortunately were only able to invite one person per member. Therefore it was nice to see some new faces from long term RMSC member companies. How nice that new colleagues were given the opportunity to get to know the tight community the RMSC is.
Chair Connie Roozen opened the evening with a short welcoming word. To make networking possible, a variation of ‘musical chairs’ (Stoelendans) was set up, where after each course, the table setting changed. This way, people were able to speak to members they haven’t talked to before. Also nice for the new-comers, to get to know the community in a short period of time.
What will this year bring; Insurance for offshore windfarms was discussed, the new OECD (pillar one and pillar two) will have an impact, and RMSC members are giving input on the specific definitions which will be important. The shipping market looks positive, with shipowners earning again, and what will the ascending age of the fleet do in the coming years. Interesting topics.
Of course, as RMSC we will organise seminars and activities of interest for the broad community, with a focus on autonomous sailing, sustainable shipping and inland waterway transport connections.
We welcome EF Marine and Sea3R to the community and look forward to an amazing 2022 for the maritime industry.
