Recap General Assembly 2026
On 26 February, the General Assembly Meeting of the Rotterdam Maritime Services Community took place. This year, we were pleased to be hosted by Kneppelhout, for which we extend our sincere thanks for their warm hospitality.
The meeting commenced with an in-depth presentation by the Gemeente Rotterdam. On behalf of the municipality, Tamara Sangers and Liza van der Aa provided valuable insights into the Port Vision 2050 report. It was an inspiring presentation on the future of the port and the city, to which RMSC has also contributed input. It was encouraging to see our community actively involved in shaping this long-term vision.
Following the presentation, Chairman Erik Witjens formally opened the meeting. We reflected on a successful 2025, marked not only by a strong substantive programme but also by our anniversary activities. The clear highlight was, of course, the boat tour.
The audit committee reported a positive outcome, and both the annual accounts and the budget were presented and explained.
Finally, we engaged in a substantive discussion on the strategy for the coming period and reviewed the 2026 annual calendar. With a clear direction and a well-filled agenda, we look ahead to the year with confidence.
We wrapped up the afternoon with a networking reception. A great opportunity to catch up, exchange ideas and continue the conversations in an informal setting.
