Human Capital Gap(s) in Maritime Services
Pressure on the labour market is increasingly being felt, also within maritime
services. Shortages are growing, the workforce is ageing, and inflow remains
insufficient. While image campaigns help, they are no longer enough on their
own to secure the necessary talent. How can we ensure together that maritime
service companies remain future-proof?
The City of Rotterdam and the Rotterdam Maritime Service Community (RMSC)
invite you to an inspiring and interactive afternoon, focusing on the question:
How do we get the work done? The role of AI and technology in future-proof
maritime services.
With a keynote by Laurens van Wesep, we will explore how technology – from
AI to robotics – can help ease labour market shortages.
However, technology is not an end in itself. The focus is on its impact on your
organisation, your people, and your work:
• What can AI and robotics mean for labour shortages?
• What is needed to ensure that maritime service companies in the region
can fully benefit from various innovations in this field?
• What are the effects of AI, for example, on work and job satisfaction?
• How can maritime services remain an attractive employer for talent,
especially as routine work changes or disappears?
During this roundtable, we bring together companies from the maritime service
sector to share experiences, explore opportunities, and identify common
challenges. Your practice, insights, and ambitions are central.
Join us in exploring the next step.
What role do you see for your organisation? And what do you expect from the
City of Rotterdam and the RMSC? Join us and help shape a strong, innovative,
and future-proof maritime services sector in Rotterdam.
