RMSC key member in newly installed Rotterdam Maritime Board
On June 19th the new Rotterdam Maritime Board was installed by the Municipal Executive Committee of the City of Rotterdam. Thirty CEO’s and board members of leading maritime companies and organisations in the Rotterdam region are member of this new advisory board.
This board will address current and strategic affairs within the maritime sector in order to facilitate the further improvement of the Rotterdam business climate for the maritime sector. The composition of the board shows the wide variety of the Rotterdam maritime cluster. Among the members are maritime business services firms, commodity traders, logistics firms and offshore companies. Closely involved are Rotterdam Partners, Port of Rotterdam Authority and Drechtsteden. The idea is that by linking business and important governance stakeholders intelligence can be turned into action faster. Together with Singapore the city of Rotterdam is the only maritime capital to have such a board. The board is now working on its strategic and action agenda which will be presented in the upcoming months.
The Rotterdam Maritime Services Community (RMSC) is directly represented in this board via its chairman. Next to this also members of the management of several RMSC member firms are represented in the board. RMSC looks forward to a very fruitful and inspirational cooperation with the other board members and the relevant stakeholders. This board is in line with the ambitions of RMSC to make Rotterdam the maritime capital of Europe.
