RMSC Board Member Connie Roozen warns for unintentional results in fiscal quick fix
Last week RMSC Board Member and tax consultant Connie Roozen was interviewed by the Financieel Dagblad on her vision on an intended amendment of an act by the Dutch cabinet to prevent international tax evasion. Roozen warns for unintentional results of this quick fix .
The amendment could mean Dutch shipowners could face unintentional higher taxation because of limitations in participation exemptions and limited tax benefits for fiscal units. However, Roozen thinks that Dutch legislators might solve these challenges. Therefore it is important to address the issues to prevent unintentional results of a fiscal quick fix.
The Royal Association of Dutch Shipowners (KVNR) endorses the analysis and warns that the amendment might have a negative effect on the business climate of the Dutch maritime industry.
