Meeting RMSC Advisory Board
Last January 2019 the board of RMSC and the Advisory Board had their latest meeting. These fruitful meetings are held twice a year (if necessary). Main topics that were discussed during this meeting were RMSC focus areas. And the continuation and development of strategic alliances as well as cooperation with other relevant trade associations in the broader Rotterdam area.
RMSC focus areas
The focus of promoting Rotterdam as a strong cluster of maritime business services is widely accepted. The Advisory Board strongly advised to broaden the scope and to include cyber-protection/IT companies that operate or service the maritime industry. The board was pleased with the increased cooperation with other trade associations, and advised to expand this cooperation even more. Because the RMSC is embedded in the Rotterdam Maritime Capital of Europe program, aligned events are ensured.
Advisory Board
Wim van Sluis left the Advisory Board in January, he was granted gratitude for his commitment to the RMSC right from the start. The RMSC is happy to announce that Jeroen Kuyper – the previous RMSC Chairman- and Rob Verkerk – Chairman Nederland Maritiem Land – have granted the request of the RMSC board to join the Advisory Board. With these two new members, next to Jan Valkier, Ben Vree, Frits Gronsveld, Albert Straatman and alderman Barbara Kathmann, the RMSC has a very strong Advisory Board to strengthen the RMSC even better.
