Innovation breakfast 2018 – Opening of the World Port Days
With more than 200 people joining in the historic Hulstkamp building, right at the Nieuwe Maas, it was a great venue for the opening of the World Port Days. Itanks organised the event with help from RPPC, Rotterdam Partners and RMSC.
Speakers were diverse, with Eduard Backer (CMA-CGM) regarding new insights from students in a shipowning company, Peter van der Ende (Van der Ende) about how to attract new employees, Richard Klatten (Futureproof Shipping) explaining very inspiring about zero-emissions in the shipping industry and Jasper Nagtegaal (Containerweight.com) his online container tare weight database, a must have to be VGM compliant.
RMSC was asked for an innovative initiative in the maritime services community, and we asked our member MS Amlin, to present the first blockchain-enabled platform for marine insurance. Madeline Bailey, Global Head of Strategic Initiatives at MS Amlin gave a lively and informative explanation on Insurewave, the platform, which was launched in May.
