The maritime sector is on the brink of a major transition. Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) – ranging from advanced on-board navigation support to remotely operated and, ultimately, fully autonomous vessels – are developing rapidly and raising new questions about safety, regulation, technology and the future of maritime services. During this Community Lunch, Maarten Veenstra will give a brief introduction to the latest developments, followed by an open discussion on the opportunities, challenges and potential impact of MASS on the maritime community. An interesting opportunity to share knowledge, exchange experiences and get to know one another better.
