Date(s) - 24 March | 12:00 - 13:00
Autonomous shipping, remotely controlled vessels, artificial intelligence in the maritime industry, all buzz-words with more real life cases than you might have thought.
The Rotterdam Maritime Services Community partners up with the Netherlands Smart Shipping Forum (SMASH!) on a project for autonomous inland ferries. Consequently, the idea was born for the next webinar where the maritime business services explain their role in the development of remotely controlled or even autonomous vessels.
Marco Scholtens will start with an overview of the current state of the (technical) developments. Sonja van Wijk will then go focus briefly on the theory of insurances: P&I or Hull and Machinery, and dive into the risk assessment analysis and how to cope with claims. Willemijn Putz shall connect the legal aspects, and discuss which adjustments might be necessary in (maritime) law and regulations.
As smart shipping is a broad topic and many elements have to be adjusted while technology develops quickly, there surely will be many questions.
