Rotterdam Maritime Capital of Europe campaign launched
On September 18th the official launch of the Rotterdam Maritime Capital of Europe campaign took place. At a large gathering at the Rotterdam Maritime Museum the new website was unveiled. The campaign is supported by Rotterdam Partners, the City of Rotterdam, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Drechtsteden region.
Main aim of the campaign is to further strengthen the image of the region for foreign investors. Next to that the initiative also seeks to further improve relations within the Rotterdam maritime sector. The start of a dedicated education programme on commodity trading and supply is among the soon to be realized ambitions of the campaign.
The campaign is closely related to the installation of the Rotterdam Maritime Board earlier this year. Several members of RMSC have a seat in the Rotterdam Maritime Board. This board which consists of thirty business leaders in the Rotterdam maritime sector advises on strategic affairs in the maritime sector relevant to the city hall.
