The Rotterdam Maritime Services Commmunity and Van Ameyde Marine organise a joint members only workshop on Monday May 14 at Simwave in Barendrecht. During the workshop Walter Dekkers, managing director of Van Ameyde Marine, will share his vision on the use of LNG as Marine fuel and specific challenges that are connected with it.
Stricter environmental legislation makes the use of LNG propulsion instead of traditional marine fuels interesting. Because of this shipowners are more and more exploring opportunities and the feasibility of using LNG engines in new building programmes. During the workshop Dekker will cover different aspects of using LNG propulsion and considerations shipowners have to take into account in the decision-making process. As well as elaborating on LNG bunkering and legislation.

After the presentation the attendees are invited to visit the simulators of SimWave. Not only impressive but also gives a clear insight of the current way of training and assessing seafarers.
