Van Ameyde acquires McAusland Turner

26 April 2019/in News

On 12 April 2019 Van Ameyde completed the acquisition of McAusland Turner: Marine Surveyors and Consultants with a strong foothold in the UK. Van Ameyde’s strategy is to grow its regional UK business and to deliver a strong value proposition through an expanded international marine surveying network.

McAusland Turner will provide Van Ameyde meaningful presence throughout the UK and complements Van Ameyde’s existing Property and Liability TPA / Loss adjusting business of Woodgate and Clark in the UK.

The takeover, by means of a share transfer, has no consequences in terms of staff and management. “In fact, the company and its clients will benefit from Van Ameyde’s extensive marine surveying network. Thanks to our mutual vision of providing high-quality services to the marine insurance market, we uphold employment and growth,” says Albert Weatherill, Managing Director of McAusland Turner. The company will continue to operate from its existing offices in Hull, Grimsby, Newcastle, Bristol, Burgess Hill and Ipswich and representative offices in Rochester, Southampton, Liverpool and Kinross. A London City office will also be opened shortly.

Van Ameyde and McAusland Turner are fully complementary in terms of markets. Bob de Bruijn, Board Member of Van Ameyde, says, “The acquisition is part of Van Ameyde’s strategy to expand its Loss-Adjusting & Surveying network. The UK being the largest marine insurance market, expansion of our marine surveying network to the UK is vital. In McAusland Turner, we have found the perfect match in terms of quality and identity.”

McAusland Turner will benefit from Van Ameyde’s access to the marine surveying markets on the Continent of Europe. The network currently covers the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, the Baltic states, the Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. In addition, Van Ameyde will support sustainable growth and provide IT support.
