Project Cargo Summit - Rotterdam Maritime Services Community

Project Cargo Summit 2020 – Turn crisis into opportunity

23 September 2020/in Event

Date/Time: September 23 - September 24 | All Day

The world economy has taken a massive hit, but as entrepreneurs and economists will often tell you, crises also present opportunities. During the online edition of the Project Cargo Summit 2020 on the 23rd and 24th of September these opportunities are explored in-depth.

The Project Cargo Summit is an international event for the project cargo, breakbulk and heavy-lift industry. Maritime business services are also important for these cargo flows. In two online sessions we will talk about how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the market, what you likely can expect going forward and how you can use this crisis to your advantage.

Learn from leading shipping analyst Peter Sand of BIMCO which shipping markets will likely see the fastest and biggest uptick, and which ones will probably underperform.

The oil and gas sector is one of the industries most hard-hit by the pandemic. Analysts predict that this crisis will have a bigger impact than the crude price crash of 2014. What does this mean for logistics providers. Specialised freight forwarders will tell you how they are dealing with the downturn, and what opportunities are still left. RMSC members Michael de Visser (NIBC Bank) and Michiel Steeman (Zuyderzee Capital) will share their vision on financing project cargo projects.

While some industries are in a slump, others are thriving. The wind industry is rapidly evolving and the offshore industry is struggling to keep up. What opportunities does this bring for the heavy-lift industry? And how will supply chains evolve now turbines are getting bigger? We will discuss these challenges in-depth with Wind Europe and specialized contractors and forwarders.

With travel restrictions still in place for many countries, companies have had to be creative in serving their customers in the best possible way. As it turns out, heavy transports can be managed from 9,000 miles away and engineers do not always have to fly to the other side of the world to solve problems. What remote working solutions are here to stay? And what efficiency gains do they bring? Logistics Plus and Liebherr will tell you first hand and the solution may be simpler than you think.

These are just a handful of topics that will be discussed at the Project cargo Summit 2020 Online. RMSC is happy to be a partner for this event with event, visit the Project Cargo Summit website for the full event program and to register free of charge!
